Having an eye for style means always having them open! Fortunately, I was on red alert when I spied this new Pop-Up shop on St John Street in Islington today. The shot of fuchsia pink against the slate grey exterior convinced me there’d be something tasteful inside. So I had to step in and find out more…

I wasn’t disappointed. Olli Ella is the brainchild of two yummy mummy sisters, Chloe and Olivia, who couldn’t find well-designed pieces for their kids’ rooms, so decided the funk up the nursery scene with their own range of chairs and ottomans.

They specialise in nursing chairs – a much-neglected and oft-overlooked sub-genre of the chair world.  But the way they rework them in funky brights brings them bang up to date…

…love the use of very on-trend contrast piping. Extra points for the graphic print wallpaper, too.

Not sure you even need to be nursing to crave one of these…

Olli Ella plan to stay until the end of the year. By which time, who knows, nursing chairs could be the new Bertoia…! Mary Weaver – Houses editor
