Move over Campbells,we Brits have got our own soup icon. The Heinz Tomato soup can, originally designed 10o years ago has been re-released and is available from Fortnum & Mason.
I had to pop along and buy myself a piece of history. And at 80p, it was perhaps the best bargain Design Classic I’ve ever found. The design may be 100 years old, but the soup still tastes great! Afterwards a nourishing lunch, I was able to put it to stylish use on my desk…

Pret A Manger costs me £5 and all that’s left are crumbs to accesorise my keyboard. 80p for lunch and a desk accessory? That’s where it’s at! What a steal.
P.S. Blue and red? Such a great combo.

A humble tin of soup. And yet so totally gorgeous. We absolutely have to go and buy a cupboard load. I wonder if we can use them to grow little tomato plants on our kitchen window sill – or perhaps just a row of basil plants?

This is really cool. It’s neat and a practical solution for storing pens in.
