Proud Mary was formed in 2008 by two friends – Harper and Molly – living in Brooklyn who shared a passion for design and social responsibility. The company’s goal is to ‘establish relationships with talented textile artisans around the world, sharing their beautiful work and story’. Good goal. The prints above are created by women in small cooperatives outside Cape Town, while those below are made by Mayan weavers in Guatemala. Our pick is the black-and-gold Mamba print, which is completely glamorous – it’s amazing what can be done with a potato isn’t it?
