These beautiful ‘sketch sculptures’ by Julieann Worrall Hood have just been unveiled in the window of The Conran Shop in Chelsea. They have an amazing animated quality, as if someone has quickly scribbled their outlines in the air.

Who would have thought the humble coat hanger could be such a focal point? At Merci, the ultra chic lifestyle boutique in Paris, the walls are currently adorned with this impressive collection of hangers of all shapes and sizes, once again pulling off the store’s clever visual merchandising trick of making the, well, downright ordinary seem all of a sudden so much more appealing! Proof that there’s power in numbers, non?

There seems to be a baby boom amongst my friends just lately and I’ve been struggling for gift inspiration! So I’m loving Ruka-Ruka‘s gorgeous, bold, retro prints that can be customised with the new baby’s name or date of birth for that extra personal touch. Nic, Picture Editor.

Taking knitting to a whole new level are Amy Butler‘s new patterns for Rowan, from rugs to necklaces!

This is not actually downtown Marrakech, this is Knightsbridge. Harrods to be exact. But a very exotic-feeling Harrods, after master craftsmen built a traditional arched riad, complete with ornate  tiles, woodcarving and a marble fountain centerpiece on the third floor. Inspiring Morocco runs until 18 December, and is a chance to stock up on traditional handicrafts as well as contemporary pieces by up-and-coming designer/makers. In addition to the exotic shopping experiece, every saturday and sunday from 5 November there will be a range of Moroccan experiences on offer, including henna tattoos, calligraphy and live ‘oud’ music. You can also be beautified in the Urban Retreat spa with luxurious beauty products made with indigenous ingredients such as argan oil, rose and rhassoul. There now, that’s made up for the grey, depressing weather today hasn’t it? Alternatively, actual Morocco is only a short flight away, it might be a bit harder to get a huge kilim home, though.

We are over the moon that The Lollipop Shoppe has moved to bigger premises in Brighton, this is a very happy news indeed. Their new Georgian townhouse home is 1,300 square foot arranged over two light-filled floors, with interior accessories and homeware on the ground level and larger items of furniture up on the first. All this lovely new space means selected furniture and lighting by Tom Dixon, sofas and chairs by Malmsten, and storage and shelving units from Muuto. In addition, there will be a wider range of accessories, with the exclusive Vasa sculptures and Comme de Garcons collection now available in the Brighton shop. And, bonus, you can have an ice-cream afterwards (or eat three courses in Terre a Terre like Life.Style.etc).

I really wanted to put these amazing, amazing A-Shade pendant lights on the November news pages of Livingetc, but alas, the whole shipping thing is a bit tricky. They’re made by New York studio Matter. Each copper-plated spun metal shade is suspended on leather rope, but my favourite thing about them is that the top one is HUGE. It has a 71cm diameter. If you live over the Pond, can you really imagine a better light to hang quite low over a round dining table? Exactly.

This amazing collection by Missoni for Target is only available in America. BOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO.

Lucky old Edinburghers, you’re getting the first Anthropologie in the UK outside London, on one of the city’s grandest streets, 39-41 George street. In the build up to the grand opening – June 15th – they have commissioned Dundee-based surface pattern designer Louise Kirby, who has been busy decorating the hoarding ready for the big day.

To celebrate the launch they are also having a customer day on Sunday 19th from 1pm with local artists, where, among other things, you can take along your beloved pooch to have its portrait sketched by the lovely Lindsey Gardiner.

As the team behind Livingetc, the UK’s leading magazine for modern interiors, we’re always out and about, scouting for inspiration. And when we see something that makes our design minds flutter with joy, we’ll share it with you here. To purchase the digital version of the magazine, click here.
